I'm selling my car because due to personal reasons I will have to change to an automatic transmission car. I got this stick shift car from dealer 1 year ago with clear title and clear carfax record. I have driven it for one year (putting another 6k miles on it) without any accidents or even scratches. Clear title at hand to be transferred to the next owner, and will give VIN for record check to buyers with serious interests. I also have kept all documents or receipts related to this car to show the next buyer.

Specific information about this car:

1. 1998 Toyota Corolla CE, 63k miles, I'm the second owner.

You may probably wonder why a 1998 car has only 63k miles. That's what I wondered when I thought of buying this car from the dealer last year. I was told that the car had been garaged for a long time in the first owner's hand (so the original battery died and was replaced), and then sold to the dealers. The carfax I got from the dealer (up till one year ago) showed a very clean report, which I can provide to the next potential buyer.

2. 1.6L 4 cylinder engine, 5-speed manual transmission.

The engine is perhaps the best part of this car, still going VERY VERY strong. Though the stick shift is not popular nowadays, it gives great acceleration experience with the 1.6L engine. If you have relevant experiences, you probably know that 1.6L engine seems not strong enough for automatic transmissions. Moreover, if you use neutral gear wisely and safely, the manual shift can be super gas saving. For me, it's 28-35mpg. Also, driving a manual gives you great sense of controlling and "communicating" with the vehicle, if that's what you enjoy.

3. Replaced/new parts
New parts on this vehicle are:
(1) serpentine belt
(2) rear struts
Replaced by dealer last year. I have receipt for proof.
(3) battery
No receipt for proof, but you will be able to see it clearly when opening the hood.
(4) front brake rotors
(5) front and rear brake pads
(6) rear drum resurfaced
I did (4)-(6) last year for ensuring better safety. Have mechanic's receipt for proof.
(7) trunk lock replaced
The original trunk lock did not always work so I replaced it myself. You will have to use another key to be able to open the trunk.

4. The good and the deficits about the car:

Good:
(1) power window and power locks.
(2) AC works great, blows very cold wind in hot summer.
(3) uses timing chain so you don't have to worry about changing the timing belt around 100k miles.
(4) everything in great condition, just finished the 60k scheduled maintenance, state inspection and emissions inspection all passed and good for at least another year.

Deficits:
(1) minor dent on the left rear side.
(2) minor scratches on the right and left rear bumper.
(3) the trunk cannot be opened from inside the car (malfunctioning trunk lever)
(4) the CD does not always work, but the radio and sound are great. You can easily get an FM transmitter for around 20 bucks to play your cellphone's music using the car's audio system.

Given the really excellent condition of the car and the extremely low mileage that is rear on the market, I'm asking for $3999 for this car. Price can be negotiated, but the room is not too much. Accept CASH ONLY.
