ShopSafe is not 100% safe. Last year I made a purchase at TigerDirect. The purchase was a TV and obviously was a price mistake. I used ShopSafe to generate a virtual credit card number with a preset limit exactly the same as the dollar amount of the order $252.XX. The order slipped through and shipped out. TigerDirect failed to intercept the order and the order was on my possession. Then TigerDirect had guts to charge my virtual card again for $719.XX without my consent. I don't know how they did that but they really did charge my virtual card number again with a preset limit for $719.XX. I ended up disputing the charge and accusing BofA of the safety of ShopSafe. Finally I won the dispute and kept the TV for $252.XX. |
