After I finish reading this post, I got all sort of mix feeling.
First, OP is obviously quite smart. You went to one of the top 50 college, that said a lot about you. Second, it appears that OP probably never had to worry about money in life, such as paying for college tuition. I got a feeling that your family background is pretty solid. Meaning your parents are financially capable of supporting you in anyway to help you out in life whenever you need it. Lastly, OP seems like a person who never face encounter any kind of big problem in life. Even if you did, someone probably took care of it for you.
Now, everything you said all make sense, especially about why bother to find a partner in life since you can take care of yourself. However, I was thinking you might be missing some important aspect of life. First question. What are you going to do when you are old and have no fiend or family to be there for you when you needed the most? Second question. What happen when there is a catastrophic change in your life? Who are you going to look for help? Last question. Are you sure you can stand being alone for the rest of your life.
There is no right or wrong about the choice you make, but you have to be prepare and ready to accept the worst outcome down the road.
We live, we suffer, we fight, and then we die. Would you rather have someone do it with you or do it all by yourself?
P.S. I agree with what your parents said, about finding the one who would treat you right, but I think you should at least have some kind of feeling.
Good luck OP. |
