OPT extension 要工作一定要有纸质的receipt嘛

因为很衰，我已经第三次来发OPT EXTENSION的帖子了，之前收到过rejection说我form是outdated version。。。我各种问人都没有发现任何问题，我寄了一模一样的回去，这次就过了。。。。USCIS人真的瞎，我不说什么了，浪费我的加急邮费。。。还耽误我的工作。。。

那么问题来了，我已经收到邮件和电话通知有receipt number了，但是在EAD过期之前和收到纸质receipt之前能工作吗。。。这帮人的工作效率我也不敢说，我还没问HR，我问了学校国际办公室那，也没理我。。。。所以不知道，是一定要有纸质的receipt嘛。

不一定吧 从来也没听说过纸质和电子的receipt有什么区别
只有你收到了receipt#就可以有至少180可以合法工作（即使这180天内你一直没拿到你的EAD card）

没有官方答案，大概google下也没找到，只找到如果有receipt，但没有approve的状况下是否能继续工作。但是，同意沙发，你只要有receipt，那和是否收到那张纸其实是一样的，也就是你的资料已经备案了。所以，可以工作。这和是否收到EAD physical card 才能工作是不一样的。

Can I work with an expired EAD while my 17-month extension is pending?

Yes. Your work authorization is automatically extended for up to 180 days while the 17-month STEM extension application is pending. There is not interim documentation of the extended authorization. If your employer needs information about what documents to collect as proof of extended work authorization, please refer to them to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services I-9 Central. For additional information, you can refer them to the optional practical training policy guidance issued by the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (under Immigration and Customs Enforcement). The relevant section is 8.4.2.
