1. 八月十五是中秋节，十五的月亮圆又圆。
"Zhong Qiu Jie" (Mid-Autumn Festival), is celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar, when the moon is supposedly at its fullest and roundest.

2. 中秋节是中国人合家团聚、赏月、吃月饼的日子。月亮是团圆的象征。
It is a time for family members to congregate, admire the full moon and eat mooncakes. The full moon is a symbol of reunion.

3. 刚开始的时候中秋节可能是庆丰收的节日，但后来它更以嫦娥奔月的神话闻名。
"Zhong Qiu Jie" probably began as a harvest festival. But later it’s more famous for the legends of a beautiful lady, Change'e.

4. 根据中国的神话传说，很久很久以前，曾经有10个太阳轮流当值。有一天10个太阳同时出现，炙烤大地。为了拯救苍生，神射手后羿挺身而出，射下了九个太阳。
According to Chinese folktale, the earth once had 10 suns circling over it, and each takes turns to illuminate the world. One day, all 10 suns appeared together, scorching the earth with their heat. An expert archer, Houyi, stepped forward and succeeded in shooting down 9 of the suns.

5. 后羿从王母那里得到了长生不死的仙丹，但被他的妻子嫦娥偷吃了。嫦娥服下仙丹后身体飘离地面，一直飞到了月宫，还抓了玉兔作伴。从此她长生不老，但与丈夫永远分离了。
Houyi got elixir from a goddess, which was later stolen by his wife, Chang'e. After swallowing the elixir, Chang'e found herself floating to the sky because of the overdose, grabbing a rabbit to keep her company. She finally landed on the moon, immortal, but separated from her husband forever.

6. 所以说在中秋节这天抬头望月，有时能看到兔子在捣长生不老药。
So we say that if you look up at the moon on this day, you can sometimes see a rabbit making elixir.
