2011年8月来的美国，当时真的什么也不懂，还好有homestay帮忙，homestay家在BOA工作。
所以我刚来美国时就申请了，BOA的debit，换了个很可爱的hello kitty的debit card。
【建议，拿到debit card后就不要用中国的信用卡了，因为家庭关系，我就没有中国的信用卡，一到美国就开始用debit，把所有的现金都存进去了，然后刷卡吃饭购物什么的。】

2011年9月多申请了学校餐厅的工作，10月多拿到了SSN。
【建议，拿到SSN后先不要立刻申请，过几个月在申请。被拒绝了会留下记录，homestay说的。虽然不知道管不管事，但是小心点更好。】

2012年1月，因为当时身边没有人用discover，就先申请了BOA的cash reward。
【记住，一定要是cash reward。如果banker推荐你申请学生卡，不要申请，student card木有cash reward，而且banker可能还会自己主动给你加一些程序，例如每个月从你卡里扣300刀，最后年底一起给你什么的。我有个朋友就碰到这种，和banker还说不清，纠结死了】
申请了cash reward，因为是homestay帮忙申请的，当时还给我set-up了automatic payment，每个月从BOA的checking里面自动付credit的bill。这样就不会错过付款日期了。还帮我把卡换成了有头像，这样就算卡丢了别人也用不了，很方便。

2012年3月底，我哥从法国回来，他有discover的卡，就给我发了邀请码，然后我就根据他的邀请注册了，不过不是学生卡，就是普通的cash reward。3个月后两人都有50刀。discover的cash reward真心好用，一个月就12刀的cash back。像我在BOA用了那么久也才60多刀。
【有refer会容易申请很多，当时我填的薪水是5000，也通过了，给我了750刀的额度。而且discover会帮你攒信用，申请一张只有好处，没有坏处。】

2012年5月，朋友在chase工作，去开了chase的debit card，因为还是本科生，貌似有什么优惠。反正debit card也没有年费，我就存了一些钱进去。朋友帮我做了个定期，每个月给我几刀小利息什么的。

2012年11月，朋友推荐了个banker，申请了freedom。因为我之前BOA的记录和discover的记录都不错。freedom立刻就到手了。chase的卡主要就是看banker，朋友推荐的banker长得好帅，而且人很nice，帮我设了好多方便的程序，automatic，什么的，【我是技术盲，automatic自己设了半天也出错。。。

然后目前打算今年【2013】4月申请chase sapphire preferred，这也是我第一张mile card。等申请到了再来汇报。

总结：我的经验就是什么都不要太急，太着急反而容易失败被拒。banker很重要，自己的支出记录也很重要。就算为了攒信用，多用美国的debit card吧，这样会好很多。
现在我手中的卡: BOA debit【主要付学费用，做了一个定期】，discover【超市机票各种按他的优惠term来购物】，chase freedom【同样按照他的cash back term来购物，和discover一起交叉使用】，BOA cash reward【如果discover和chase freedom的限额都用的差不多的时候后，就用BOA，鸡肋卡，但这张卡证明我开了credit card很久，一直没中断，保持记录】，chase debit【房租，水电费，做了一个定期。我的工资也是汇到这张卡，每两个月从BOA debit里面转1500刀到chase debit里面。】

虽然才来2年多，但是从2011年8月就一直在用刷卡消费，个人觉得真心方便，而且有很多优惠。
最后，申请什么的还是需要根据自己的情况，我因为学校附近刚好chase和BOA都有店，有问题可以直接去问，很方便，所以我就都开了。不过American Express却很不好用，很多地方都不收，所以我就没申请。大家还是要根据自己的环境和喜好来安排信用卡的使用！分享出来只是参考~希望对大家有帮助！【括弧笑~

很详细。
适合刚来美国的同学。没有信用记录。银行有存款。然后关键是要找BANKER申SPECIAL REQUEST。
LZ半年申卡是正确的。建议查一下自己的信用分数。4月份可以一次性申2-3张。这样他们查你的HARD INQUIRIES时，不会显示新的申请。

The only advantage of BOA cash reward CC is the 0% intro APR for 12 months and maybe a 10% extra bonus when transferring CB to BOA account like ebanking. Just for me; Chase Freedom is better but will not be such better after this Apr. Fools Day coz the 10% extra pts for loyal customer having a checking w/ Chase for years will be counted annually instead of monthly.

BOA的卡现在还有hotdeals什么的即月计算cashback的也不错，不过可以用到的deals不算多。
话说BOA和Chase的有个好处就是25,20刀就可以redeem，discover要等到50刀，时间有点长，幸好现在可以直接在amazon用掉，这样cashback的turnover就高很多。

No, I'm taking a break now. 2 personal CC per year is the limit for Citi and I do not wanna disturb Amex coz of a bunch of hard pulls this time. May apply for Sapphire Perferred later if a better promotion bonus comes.

log into online banking, you'll see "Cash Back Deals" tab with a blue "new" sign on the top right.

just like additup (similar to shopdiscover), not only the credit cards, but also all the debit cards associated with your account can earn the cash back. you have to first enroll into a particular deal from online banking or mobile banking, then pay with your card, and usually receive cash back credits on your next checking account statement, even if the amount is only a few cents. the deals are usually one time only, except for redbox rental.

Thx for sharing this info. Will check back w/ it to see if any better deals showing up. Now there r RedBox and H&R Block tax filing services only.

AMEX has the the similar feature too, but on mobile app only.

能找到好的banker那是最好了。。。可是本州一家chase的分行都没有。杯具。。
