Good afternoon!  I wanted to reach out to you in regards to the green card application we initiated in February 2019.   In September 2019, I received a prevailing wage determination which is the first step in the green card process which includes the recruitment and posting of the position for external recruitment.  Based on the wage determination, the position would need to be advertised at a minimum wage of $57,947 per year.  Our current starting salary is $44,841.  Based on the huge discrepancy of our current wage and what came back as the prevailing wage, we sent a request to reevaluate the determined wage. The secondary prevailing wage determination confirmed the $57,947 wage.  That being said, because there is such a discrepancy between the wages, we are not able to proceed with the green card process since we are not able to post a starting salary of $57,947.  In terms of possible next steps, there is a potential at a later date that we may be able to initiate another application.  I know this news is very disappointing as we were all hoping this would be an option for your family.
