导读：
英文写作的重要性在学习工作和平常生活中不言而喻，而写作对很多亚裔学生来说是薄弱的环节。写作对方方面面的功力都有一定要求，是基于大量的阅读，精准的词汇，还有逻辑思维这些能力上的。前两者可以通过有意识的自我训练达到，而逻辑思维训练主要通过开阔眼界，海量阅读后独立思考，提有深度的问题并试着解答。这些方面专业导师的作用很关键。

菠萝学校和几位美国资深英文老师长期合作，针对英文学习的各个环节推出了一系列课程来帮助提高学生的写作能力和逻辑沟通能力：词汇和语法课，思辨阅读理解课，写作课（创造性写作，叙事文，议论文），公共演讲课，辩论课。

菠萝学校精品网络班（主要针对美国学生）

Creative Writing Workshop(2nd – 3rdgrade) 创意写作班
创意写作是指任何创造性的写作方式：小说，诗歌或者创造性科普文章。一般来说，随着年龄的增长，创造力会越来越弱。所以学龄前孩子和小学生是最有创造力的，这个年龄也是最适合用写作来表达他们的世界观：不管是公主和王子打败怪兽，还是类似哈利破特的魔法王子拯救朋友，写作是最好的表达创造力方式之一。
在这节写作课上，学生会完成一篇小说创作，还有五种不同类型诗歌创作。这节写作课侧重于创造性思维启发，同时也教孩子基本的写作结构和技巧（比如使用Graphic Organizer）。


About instructor: Ms. Drexler
Ms. Drexler has an Elementary Education Degree from Rider University. Now she is a third gradeteacher in North Carolina. She has 10 years of experience working with children teaching English. Working in the Wake County School District in NC, she has access to many resources that could help her better prepare your child for their advancement.

Personal Narrative Writing Workshop(3rd – 4thgrade) 叙事文写作
这门写作课是菠萝学校写作系列Improving Writing Skill的入门课。老师通过讲解范文和有趣的课堂练习让孩子轻松愉快的学习写作叙事文写作技巧。这门写作课主要针对3-4年级的学生，帮助学生掌握重述和建立写作框架的能力，还会教如何加入细节描写。这堂课上下来，您的孩子将会选择一篇叙事文在杂志上发表。 Ms. Drexler有超过十年的教学经验，她的教学方式注重于启发学生，提高学生的写作兴趣。

Expository/Persuasive Writing (4th-5th grade) 议论文小学高年级写作班
这个写作班是菠萝学校Improve Writing Skill系列的初级议论文课程，适合小学高年级的学生。小学高年级的写作训练开始为更严谨的学术写作做准备了，不仅要求逻辑清晰，言之有据，更注重表达用词的准确性。这些训练会给初高中的学术写作打下坚实的基础。
About instructor: Mrs. Flanders
Ms. Flanders received her bachelor's degree in childhood learning and development with her teaching licensure from Maryville College in 1999, then received her master's degree in general education K-12 from Tusculum in 2002. She has been teaching ELA for 16 years in public schools, with half of her time in 6th grade English.

Expository/Persuasive Essay Writing (6th-8th grade) 议论文写作中学班
这个写作班是菠萝学校Improve Writing Skill系列的中级议论文课程，适合初中生。
This writing program is designed to enhance a middle school student's formal writing and criticalthinking skills. The course will cover both informative writing and argumentative writing.   Each unit will include the steps of the writing process including: Prewriting, Drafting,Revising, Editing, and Publishing. Students will begin each unit by understanding what writing is and requires, examining a quality model, discussing a rubric of how they would be scored in a formal environment, and completing a pre-write. The following weeks students will collaboratively, and with instructor guidance, write a sample.

About instructor: Dr. Lynch
Dr.Lynch has Doctorate in Social and Philosophical Foundations of Education from Rutgers University. She has been a full-time English Language Arts teacher in high school for more than a decade. Additionally, she is also an advisor for school newspaper and yearbook club for her local high school. As a avid writer, she has published many articles on magazines shuch as Youth and Tech Direction.

Vocabulary and Grammar(2nd - 6th grades)  词汇和语法小班辅导
菠萝学校的词汇语法课由有着丰富经验的老师讲课，每个年级一个班。这个为期12周的课程使用wordly wise3000教材，旨在扩展关键词汇，强调语法，为之后的写作和口语交流打下扎实的基础。

About instructor: Mrs. Lorie
Mrs. Lorie is a certified teacher in NJ and PA and has been teaching for decades. She is very patient with students and likes to ask thought-provoking questions.

Reading Comprehension (3rd - 6th grades) 阅读理解小班
菠萝学校阅读理解班使用美国加州天才班推荐阅读教材ReadWorks，使用多种题材来拓宽孩子的阅读兴趣，帮助孩子提高思辨能力。程度按年级分班。

About Coach
Mr. Teagan is a Harvard Graduate with honor. He has extensive experience in Extemporaneous Speaking, Lincoln-Douglas Debate, and informative, persuasive, and interpretive speaking. On the national level, he received the following awards: National Forensics League (NFL) All American 1st in NFL Points (2012), NFL National Tournament 3rd place Extemporaneous Commentary (2012), NFL National Tournament 11th place International Extemporaneous Speaking (2010), and NFL National Tournament 5th Place Extemporaneous Commentary (2009).

Debate and Public Speaking Beginning1  (4th - 5th grades) 辩论和演讲小班辅导
菠萝学校的初级辩论课1由有着丰富经验的老师讲课，同时还会通过网络组织辩论赛，和东西两岸以及北京上海国际学校的孩子一起辩论，共同进步。每个辩论班3-4个孩子组成。
About Coach
Cara has been working on different policy advocate positions for both government and private industry. After participating in debate from 6th grade through high school, Cara went on to compete in Mock Trial debate at the University of Missouri - Columbia, and began coaching Capitol City Speech and Debate Club privately on the side. She has taught workshops and regular classes for parliamentary debate, team policy debate, Lincoln Douglas debate and several other forms. Over 250 students have been tutored in speech and debate by Cara, and many of them have gone on to compete on a state, regional and national level and won prizes.

Boluo School debate and public speaking intermediate class is designed to help students to achieve proficiency inspeech and communication skills.
About Coach
Mr James has extensive experience debating in high school and college. He qualified toNationals twice in Public Forum and made it to elimination rounds. James was topspeaker at Harvard, both the round robin and tournament proper, the Florida Bluekey, Crestian Classic, and Florida Varsity Finals. He finaled at Bluekey,Nova Titan, and Florida Varsity Finals. He made semis at Emory, quarters at Glenbrooks, and won the Crestian Classic. In college James has been statechampion of LD for two years, Parliamentary debate for 3 years, and Persuasionfor 2 years.

Debate and Public Speaking Coaching Intermediate 2  (9th- 10th grades)  辩论和演讲中级班辅导
Boluo School debate and public speaking intermediate class is designedtohelp students to achieve proficiency in speech and communication skills.

About Coach
Mr Spencer is currently working at elite private school as Head Debate Coach. He competedin high school at Nova High School in Public Forum Debate and was a National Qualifier, a TOC out round participant, a Glenbrooks semi-finalist, and a Sunvitational Champion. As a collegiate debater he won the Lincoln Douglas National Championship at both the Pi Kappa Delta and National Forensics Association National Tournaments. Since competing he has coached two National Final Round closeouts at the PKD National Tournament and one at the NFA National Tournament, all in Lincoln Douglas Debate. He looks forward to working at the inaugural Advanced Placement Speech and Debate Intensive.

Debate Coaching Advanced Class (9th  grade+)  辩论高级班辅导
Boluo School Advanced Class is designed forstudents who are striving to improve their debating skills. Our coach has wonmany national tournaments and has extensive coaching experience in debate.Lesson will be arranged in small group setting and will be customized based onrequirement. 1-1 coach is also available.
菠萝学校的高级辩论课由有着多次全国辩论大赛得奖的老师辅导，小班或者个别辅导，具体时间和收费请咨询菠萝学校。

菠萝学校会在2019年一月份成立菠萝读书俱乐部，每周一次由优秀高中生线上指导和讨论，使用的教材是美国天才班的时事新闻杂志Time for Kids（查看：美国小学天才班是怎么教英文的），分3-4年级和5-6年级两个班。所有菠萝学校的学生都可以免费报名上课。非菠萝学校学生也欢迎报名，经过审核有空位就可以加入，低收入家庭优先。读书俱乐部的学生上课时会有大量讨论，所以主要针对3-6年级的美国学生；中国学生通过英文测试达到标准后也欢迎加入。
