Dear Officer:
I have a few questions about visiting Puerto Rico as a F1 student.
1. Can F1 student visit Puerto Rico and return to the U.S. if the passport
is valid but the visa is expired?
2. What if my passport was stolen and current passport doesn't have a U.S.
visa stamp? The current passport was issued by embassy in New York.
3. If the above scenarios are qualified to visit Puerto Rico and return to
the U.S., what documents should we bring with us?
Thank you very much! I am looking forward your answer!

1. You do not leave the US when you go to Puerto Rico. You will be OK if you have a valid passport and I-20.
2. You will be OK if you got a new passport while in the US. The officers can check that you were admitted into the US legally if they need to.
3. You should carry your passport and I-20.
I hope this helps.
Mark
