Thank you for all of the the lovely comments in my previous post!!! (g o d d a m n i t, wo hao xiang da zhong wen arrrr!)
So here we go again
First and also one of my mostly cooked dishes is Stunning Roasted Beerbecue Drumstick! , smoky and delicious!
1. Get your legs ready!(i meant chicken legs= =). For those people aren't true fans of dark meat, just easily replace the dumsticks with chicken breast. Slightly cut up the legs but not cut-through.
2. Marinate your legs with
- salt and pepper
- soy sauce
- meat tenderizer,
- a little bit of corn starch,
- lemon pepper(or half of a lemon, sliced)
- garlic powder,
- sesemi oil,
- red pepper flakes,
- achiote oil(optional), --藏 红花, it just gives it a nice look
- barbecue sauce (Here I use Korean bulgogi bbq sauce, I've also tried VERI VERI TERIYAKI--recommanded by a girl from dealmoon^^,or Goya marinade sauce, or Hoisen sauce.
- half of a can or a can of beer(I sometimes replace it with coke/wine/whiskey, it really doesn't matter, adjust the amt.)
- Fresh Thyme or Rosemary.麝香草/迷迭香, like $2/bun in Shoprite?
(I got most of my seasonings from Walmart, 50 cent each, which is a damn good deal )
3. Mix all the ingredients with chicken in a large container, MASSAGE them well, cover it up and refrigerate it for about 1 hour so that all the flavors are pinched into the meat.
4. Pre heat the pan to High heat, take out the chicken, drain out all the excess sauce, pat them with kitchen towel to make sure the chicken legs are relatively dry. Pour some oil on the pan, legs in, sear the leg each side for about 4 minutes. take out, put them on a plate(I prefer putting aluminum foil before plating so that it makes it easier to clean ).
5. In a pre-heat oven about 375 C, chicken in, put a little bit more finely chopped thyme or rosemary leaves on the top, Roast the leg for about 15 mins, brush with your favorite BBQ sauce, flip, another 15 minutes, brush sauce again. Turn up the heat to Broil, for final 7 Minutes, or until they get that pefect golden look!!
6. Rest the chicken for about 5-10 minutes and they are ready to serve!!!
yummmmmmmmmmmmmm~~~~~
ps: Sorry that I forgot to take pictures during cooking >.< I will make it up in my next post!
Gals try this out tonight and impress THE ONE who doesn't cook , don't forget to make him wash dishes at the end!!!
