Position Summary
The Merchant/Business Development Intern is responsible to assistthe account executive in identifying and implementing merchant relationships,researching potential merchant partners and “verticals”, and maintaining suchrelationships through identifying and following up with potential opportunitiesto improve UnionPay acceptance, conducting regular follow up to solve UnionPay acceptance, and helping the partner with up to date UnionPay signage. Primary Responsibilities
·  Assist with the presentation of the contractual and business relationship to internal groupmanagement for comment and eventual approval
·  Act as a team player inassisting with the management of Partner relationship
·  Expand and complement the considerable business skills of the team with active assistance in sales,product development, project management, business development, marketing and operations
·  Assist in analyzing and monitoring on an ongoing basis market trends, activities and competitor actionsto enable the account team to develop and implement pre-emptive strategies and plans for the Partner.
·  Assist account executives to drive strong business analysis and effective management of key merchants andprovide support to these merchants, identify opportunities to increase UP acceptance and enablement;
·  Assist the Account Executive in managing merchant “verticals”, of which responsibilities includeexpanding industry wide merchant development, driving effective management,expanding acceptance rate, and facilitating transaction growth
·  Assist the Account Executive in developing contacts and establish relationships with key merchantswithin each vertical industry, specifically focus on the verticals of: Attractions, Restaurants, Overseas Study Abroad Students
·  Work with key vertical merchant contacts and support other members of the BD Team in expanding signageplacement and merchant training
·  Assist account executive with the current signage placement efforts of UnionPay and help conduct marketresearch and analysis to identify major “keyzone” cities to be targeted for UnionPay signage placement

Requirements:
·       Relevant experience in amerchant/client facing role within the payment industry
·       Four-year college degreerequired or near completion
·       Excellent written andverbal communication skills with the ability to establish effectiverelationships with all levels including executive management
·       Exceptional ability tomanage & grow internal and external resources and cross functionalrelationships
·       Proficiency in MicrosoftWord, Excel and PowerPoint
·       Prefer candidatesproficient in Mandarin and English
·       Position will be locatedin Jersey City, New Jersey
