This is what i do almost every month.
1) For stocks that I dont mind to own, I sell some puts (for the amount of stocks that I am willing to be put-in),
2) For the stocks that I already own, i sell covered calls (but keep core position),
3) I almost don't buy out right calls or puts.

Forgot one thing, 1 & 2 are only for relatively higher option premium stocks.

yes, it is option.
Sometimes I do 1 & 2 against the same stock.

I am old enough & have been gone through a few of this up & downs unfortunately

I did end up with a lot shares in March (all my put options are forced to take the shares).

For all the stocks that I sell puts, I am willing to hold the stocks (I have done enough research to accept the risk).
I did not sell calls after I got the stocks until late April. I typically don't trade when market is crazy.
I started puts/calls selling again late April.
I do know March madness could occur again and take my positions with that in mind.
One thing going with the market is the FED actions to support the market.
