So PD should be as accurate as possible, havinga correct PD makes sure your eyes match up with the optical centre of yourlenses. Otherwise, you will feel unwell after wearing the glasses, and thevision of the eyes will be affected.

Below are the steps to measure your own PD.

step 1. Position yourself approximately 8 inches (20cm) away from a mirror or yourself arm’s lengthfrom your friend.

step 2. Close your left eye and align the ruler’s zero to the centre of your right pupil.

step 3. Try not to move your head or the ruler.Closeyour right eye and note the reading directly over your left pupil. That will beyour PD.

step 4. You also need to measure the distance from twopupils to the centre of noserespectively to make sure that if you have two PDs (OD & OS).
