今天绿卡面试通过，分享总结DIY申请准备经历以及2018Timeline.

首先简单列出2018年至2019年绿卡申请的Timeline，坐标阿拉巴马州：
1，2018年8月份结婚，开始准备DIY绿卡申请材料。期间，在网上查阅大量的资料，发现很多热心人贴的经验贴帮助非常大，我根据下载的cover lette结合自身的情况进行修正后，在10月中旬寄出材料。
2，10月26号收到USCIS的I797纸质通知书，证明材料收到，并且同时有收到打指纹的通知。
3，2018年11月16日，到所在城市的office打指纹。
4，从2018年11月到2019年5月，整个7个月没有任何消息。于是忍不住在USCIS的官网发信催问case超出正常时间。
5，不知道这封inquiry是不是有效，在6月初收到新的I797通知，I765和I131同时approve。
6，很快一周后，就收到了EAD卡，也就是combo卡。
7，很快紧接着6月中旬收到新的I797面试通知，面试时间7月19日。
8，7月19日面试，当场通过。

首先，分享一下面试根据I797准备的package的cover letter：

面试过程：
进门出示面试通知的I797和ID，然后过安检。进入大厅后，check in窗口按指纹，报出生年月和姓名，然后工作人员告诉坐在大厅里等另外一个门的人叫名字面试。大厅座位很多，人不太多，大概有7，8个家庭的样子。大多是南美拉丁族裔，一个婚姻绿卡的妇女像菲律宾那边的人，怀孕的肚子非常明显了。这些面试里面我猜测也有入籍的人，不单止是申请绿卡的人。有趣的是只看到我一个亚裔。
面试的时间通知上写的是下午1点钟，规定不允许提前超过30分钟到，我们还是提前了大概40分钟到，还是顺利安检check in。然后坐着等到大约1点15分的样子，就有一个高大的黑人officer推门叫我的名字。我本来预期叫我全名，至少是first name在前，可是officer叫得是last name，Ms XXX。我老公和我还好及时反映过来，快步上前。老公紧张忘了雨伞在座位，我提醒他，他又折回去拿雨伞，哈哈。这个officer人非常nice，我和老公觉得真的很幸运，一进门打招呼，他主动说how are you doing？所以气氛一下子轻松很多。和帖子里有一些人说的面试官上来很严肃不太一样。然后面试官会引着我们到他的办公室。因为我先进门，所以坐在里面的位置，入座后，我老公示意要不要和我换位置，这样面试官能更好看到我，面试官欣然同意。换座位后，面试官就道歉说因为网络故障所以比面试规定的时间晚了一些。我立马说没有关系。紧接着面试官问我们出示各自的ID。然后就很快开始正式的面试。首先面试官让起立右手举起宣誓说的都是真话。我老公说完I do，我也顺势答了I do。然后坐下，就开始问表格的问题，面试官边问边用红笔划一下相应的问题。姓名，出生日期，住址，然后是一大堆no的问题，比如有无犯罪记录，非法携带武器等等。总之都答no。然后他问完，抬头对我们笑着说，会不会紧张答错。我就开玩笑说，是啊，很怕问题中间来个陷阱trap。答完了以后，面试官就说要问一些常规的问题咯。问题记住的我列一下：
首先问我：
什么时候开始在现在的住址居住？
搬到现在的城市以后，在现在住址之前有没有在其他的住址住过？
现在在哪里工作？
问老公：
你们什么时候认识的，怎么认识的？
你们有求婚仪式吗？怎么求的婚？
现在在哪里工作？
问大家：
你们的婚礼什么样子？我回答的。
你们婚礼仪式见证人都有哪些？他们的名字都是谁？我老公答，然后我补充。
你们的蜜月在哪里？都做了什么？
你们有小孩吗？
你们家几辆车？问各自的车型号。我和老公分别答。
你们爱看football美式足球吗？
你们这个月美国独立日7月4号怎么度过的？

我们面试的经验是：回答问题要言简意赅，但是要真实，还要将重点的细节讲一下。面试官问谁，谁就答，不要插嘴打断。比如问我老公的问题，我就不可以插嘴，要专注听就好。比如我老公讲求婚，说没有特定的求婚，因为已经商量好了，提前去店里试了戒指尺寸，然后因为网上买便宜，所以就网上定了，期间我还一直催问怎么还没有到啊。所以很生活化很真实。问我们7月4号怎么过的。我们实话实说，没有一起过，我老公爱玩board game，就开车去另外一个城市找他好朋友玩游戏。我说我不喜欢玩桌游，反正他周末也回家，所以让他周四周五好好和朋友玩，给他一些自由开心一下。后来回来的路上，我老公回忆说问家里有几辆车，都各自开什么这个问题干嘛。后来他分析说，因为正常人这个问题都会实话实说。所以面试官可能会对比这个真实讲实话的反应和回答其他问题的反应。我觉得挺有道理的。然后面试官当场很快就说你们的情况会很快aprove的。我当时反应非常淡定，老公及时说了谢谢。我只是当时不想表现的过于兴奋，哈哈，只是临告别的时候说了谢谢，并主动握手。他讲完会approve我们的case之后，说大概7月底会收到绿卡。时间不能保证精准，因为要看Nbc的打印裁剪效率。然后花了快10分钟的时间，介绍3年后申请入籍的注意事项，需要填的表格I751等等。然后说不允许90天之前申请，不要侥幸，如果提前91天申请也会被拒，同时申请费要不回来。觉得他人真的很好。然后夸我们材料准备的很充分，然后指着他背后的材料墙，说有一份Eb1工作绿卡的材料有多么多么厚。我们就随声附和真的辛苦了。然后他问我们有没有要补充的材料。我就把准备的材料介绍给他，他没有当时看，就是坐着看我摆弄各种材料。所有带的原件材料，面试官一眼也没看。复印件材料，我连着cover letter一起全给他了。他说感谢我们准备organize了这些材料。我说里面有一些和我们当初提交的材料有重复，抱歉如果这个带给他更大的工作量。然后他说，他之前有看到一对韩国夫妇准备材料真的细致，几十美金的文件夹，每个文件都标注的非常清楚。哪怕他本人是OCD，但是也特别吃惊居然有人能把这件事情做得这么细致认真。然后讲起他自己正在读一个PhD的项目之类的。最后结束后，他送我们到门口，说祝贺。我说也希望你的博士项目进展顺利。总共不到30分钟的时间，出门后看表是1点45分。我老公很开心，给了我一个爱的大抱抱。面试的个人感觉：其实面试官会提前看你们的绿卡申请材料，对于是否是真实婚姻，心里都有数了。面试只是见到真人，进行核实。所以我们当初提交的材料够充分，给面试官的印象不错，所以从面试开始就顺利一些。同时面试官也提到，我听得懂英语，讲英语流利，有工作，没有问题。

附上当时提交绿卡材料的cover letter，提醒一定要认真看USCIS所有的instruction包括如何整理file的说明：很多细节包括不能用高亮笔，因为会干扰USCIS扫描存档，很多人都觉得为了方便移民官找到重要信息这个想法是错的。还有标签不能放在右边，只能放在材料的下面。不可以用订书钉等等。
